Abstract

But Luis María Bustos Fernández and those who know him understand that he cannot be confined to the academic and teaching world of our specialty. We could define him as a multifaceted human being. Among his qualities, we remember him as a brilliant storyteller and joke teller, who delighted us in counterpoint with other illustrious storytellers: Guido Iantorno, Osvaldo Besasso, and Sergio Echepare. He was also a formidable theater actor, where we saw him perform alongside another famous stage artist: Miguel Lumi. He was a great diplomat and forged deep friendships with many colleagues in Latin America and around the world. Last but not least, he was a tenacious fighter in the face of the adversity of his illness. Supported by his wife, Virginia, he always kept going, overcoming obstacles until he had just turned 66.
